OTLEY'S Lizzie Armitstead and Horsforth's David Stone have both been named on British Cycling's team squad for the 2014-15 funding year.

Both are on the podium programme, with Olympic silver medallist and reigning Women's World Cup champion Armitstead one of only two women road racers named (the other is Hannah Barnes), while Stone is among 17 selected for the Paralympic section.

British Cycling's technical director Shane Sutton OBE said: "The podium programme is looking in a healthy position with just under two years to go to Rio 2016."

Hartshead's Abby-Mae Parkinson is among 42 named on the Olympic Development Programme, and the Bradford Grammar School pupil is among eight in the women's endurance category.
