THORNTON United host West Bowling in the pick of the weekend's Bradford Sunday Alliance League fixtures.

The Premier Division duo, who were both in FA Sunday Cup action last week, go into the fixture at Manningham Mills lying third and sixth respectively, although they have played fewer games than all the clubs around them.

The two clubs had mixed fortunes in the national knockout competition, with Thornton bowing out after extra time at home to Alder FC while Bowling won after a penalty shoot-out at Birstall Stamford. They drew a December trip to Black Bull in the next round.

Leaders Stanningley Albion have played most fixtures at the top of the Premier table but will be confident of maintaining their progress this weekend at second-bottom Napoleons Casino, who have only won once to date.

Second-placed Peel Park have a tougher test at Bolton Woods, who are fifth but with games in hand.

And third-bottom Buttershaw Celtic need to raise their game away to a Sandy Lane side who are tucked in just behind the top three.

Division One top two Allerton and White Eagles are both on the road this week, at bottom-half outfits Cuedos Rangers and Ventus United respectively.

But the top game in the section sees third-placed Swaine Green at home to Oakenshaw, who are fourth.
