NOT surprisingly when five of the seven matches finished all square, the leading teams in Division Three of the Bradford League lost their 100 per cent records.

Pudsey B were one and had Alex Waring to thank for preserving their unbeaten run as he won three singles and a doubles with Lynne Thompson, who also won one, in a draw at home to Fastbats D.

John Porter and Colin Priestley won two each for Fastbats while Richard Knowles added one.

Thornbury had won their first four matches and led 2-0 at Hermits I through Kazeem Afzal and David Wilson, but tasted defeat for the first time as Roger Swithenbank, Geoff Parkes and Norman Swift all won two in a 7-3 success.

Baildon B moved into second above Thornbury after being held to a draw at Fastbats-E.

Waqas Ahmad won his three singles for Fastbats but John Atkinson and Richard Stanley both won two for Baildon, with Steve Crossland adding a single.

Bradford College are fresh to the league this season and were denied their first victory at Hermits-J.

Yutani Tsuji won three for the new boys, and Farook Khan tagged on a brace but they were foiled by Paul Rook and John Rawnsley, who came from behind to take the doubles 11-9 in the fifth.
