OLDHAM boss Lee Johnson has described City as a League One “giant”.

The Latics are currently flying high after going 12 matches without defeat, including their last-gasp victory when the sides met at Boundary Park in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy last month.

The Johnsons enjoyed a family double over the Bantams that week with Lee’s dad Gary following up with victory at Valley Parade with Yeovil.

But despite his own side’s impressive form, Johnson junior is prepared for a serious test when Phil Parkinson’s troops trek back over the Pennines.

He said: “Bradford are a strong side and a giant club really for this division.

“They are well supported and, hopefully, there will be a big crowd here for the game.

“They have good players, recruited well in the summer and have a very consistent manager. They tick all the boxes for a successful League One club.

“We want to pit our wits against that and continue in our desire to be attacking and positive.”

Oldham have won their last three home games and brushed Coventry aside 4-1 in midweek.

Two of the goals came from lightning-quick striker Jonathan Forte, taking his tally to ten in 12 games. He is currently second in the division’s scoring charts behind Chesterfield hot-shot Eoin Doyle.

Johnson added: “We’ve done well to go 12 games unbeaten but I don’t see why we should get carried away.

“All the big clubs are up there with us and they can go and spend big if a few results don’t go their way.

“Our squad is in decent shape so we will just keep believing we’re in with a chance of finishing above some of those sides.”

But the Latics won’t be able to call on defensive powerhouse George Elokobi tomorrow.

The former Wolves man was hoping to return after a month out with a thigh problem. But he has suffered an apparent setback and will be ruled out for at least another ten days.

Brian Wilson is fit again to play right back so Genseric Kusunga, a former Servette team-mate of Chris Routis, will move across to the middle to partner James Wilson.
