Scarborough Athletic 3, Farsley AFC 1

FARSLEY failed to make the most of playing in the only Division One North game of the day as opponents Scarborough Athletic leapfrogged them into fourth place.

Neil Parsley's men had been hoping to cut the gap on the clubs above them but tumbled to sixth as they turned in arguably their poorest display this term.

Marcus Edwards had a half chance early on but the home keeper saved and the Seadogs were soon a goal to the good.

Ryan Blott provided the assist and Boro's former Bradford Park Avenue man Jimmy Beadle provided the finish.

Farsley striker Adam Priestley, back from international duty with Gibraltar, headed over from a Lewis Nightingale corner and then Nightingale had a shot well saved before Boro were back on the attack.

Blott went from provider to scorer as he doubled the hosts' lead with a good finish from the edge of the area just before the interval.

In the second half, Edwards broke through but failed to round the keeper – but he did get on the score sheet later as he forced the ball over following a 64th-minute corner.

Yet Farsley still could not get back into the game and their frustration was obvious.

Just five minutes after Edwards' goal, Gary Bradshaw nipped in to head home and restore the Seadogs' two-goal cushion.
