DAN Fleming has spoken of his delight after being included Wales' squad for the upcoming European Championships.

The Castleford prop, who will join the Bulls on a two-year deal next month, was today unveiled as part of a 22-man line-up by new Wales coach John Kear.

Batley Bulldogs chief Kear coached Fleming during a loan spell with the Kingstone Press Championship side last year.

And the pair are set to be reunited this autumn, as the Dragons battle Scotland, Ireland and France for the right to be crowned champions of Europe.

“I am very proud to have been named in the squad, it is always a massive honour when you receive a call up to represent your country,” said Fleming, who was a member of Iestyn Harris' Wales 2013 World Cup squad.

“I got a taste of big-time international action last year, with the World Cup squad, so I am raring to go this time around.

“It will certainly help me prepare for pre-season training with the Bulls, allowing me to get some much-needed game-time under my belt.

“I am looking forward to working under John (Kear) again. I benefitted from my time at Batley with him and he is a great coach, who I believe will take Wales to the next level on the national stage.

“This is a real opportunity for me to make a name for myself and I am ready to take it with both hands.

“I hope for a successful tournament to build some momentum, ahead of what will be a challenging campaign with the Bulls next season."

Former Bulls duo Elliot Kear, who is searching for a new club following his departure from Odsal, and Garreth Carvell have also been included.
