DIEHARD supporter Colin Raistrick has been rewarded for his unstinting devotion by being named Bradford Bulls BRUT Fan of Pride 2014.

Raistrick was chosen following an online public vote, which recognised the lengths to which the now Morecombe resident goes in making the 150-mile round trip to Odsal to support the team he has followed since 1963.

Supporting the Bulls is a family affair for Raistrick as he has introduced his wife and daughter to the club – and they both joined him as he met with Fan of Pride player ambassador Luke Gale to celebrate winning the award.

Gale said: "It's legendary that Colin makes such a huge effort to support the club.

"Like a lot of Bradford fans, he's an amazing person. He's brilliant and this award just shows his commitment – and all the Bradford fans are the same. They're a credit to the club."

Raistrick spoke of his pride as he said: "For me it's a fabulous honour, to be quite honest. It's very humbling the whole thing.

"Considering we had a meeting at a hotel in Bradford two or three weeks ago, there were people there who I thought perhaps might deserve it more than I did. So to be here I feel very honoured, I really do."

By winning BRUT's Fan of Pride award for the Bulls, Raistrick will enjoy a day out at the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford in October, as well as some BRUT products.

He will also go forward for selection for the national BRUT Fan of Pride 2014.

This award will be chosen by a panel of rugby league experts and will see the overall winner winning £5,000 for their club's community foundation, a pair of 2015 season tickets, a signed Super League shirt and an invitation to the Man of Steel awards.
