CITY are waiting to find out if they are entitled to any money from Tom Cleverley's season-long loan move to Aston Villa.
But they are not expecting good news after a permanent deal for Manchester United's former Valley Parade youngster failed to materialise.
City have a sell-on clause, believed to be around ten per cent, in any transfer fee and there was talk of an £8million figure for the out-of-favour England international. Any reward from a loan fee would be much lower.
Villa could still try to buy him permanently in January and Everton may also be interested.
But Cleverley is out of contract in the summer and could then move on a free transfer – leaving City with nothing.
