Elland 33

Bradford Dudley Hill 15

DUDLEY Hill's formidable ten-match unbeaten Kingstone Press Championship National Conference League Division Two run came to a disappointing end at rivalsElland.

Hill needed the win to secure the automatic second promotion spot and everything looked to be going to plan when they established an 11-4 lead following two tries, a conversion and a drop goal from hooker Nathan Kitson.

Alas, everything went awry in the second half when Elland's Richard Crawshaw completed a hat-trick and leading points scorer Cayci Pearson grabbed a brace and slotted four conversions.

The strong home pack had all the momentum, leaving Hill only a consolation effort from Kyle Carter late in the game.

The Parry Laners must now regroup and win their last two matches to finish as high as possible in the table, with the third promotion place being decided in a play-off between the third and sixth-placed teams.

Elland, who are now second, also cannot afford to slip up in their final two outings as the season reaches a dramatic climax.
