wonder what Villa paid in loan deal for Cleverley: due 10% of it
Interesting But it is only a loan what the position is in such a case is by no means clear However he has not been sold and City may well have to wait while that happens and of course he his a free agent at the seasons end when no fee would be paid City could be on a beating to nothing

look back a while :when Cleverley was loaned to Wigan a fee of £400000 was paid. We eventually got £40000. The directors were apparently unaware of this situation until Archie Christie got involved

Not to disappointed with this result. Would rather be in the other 2 cups and do ok in the league.
Still don't understand why people get excited about McBurnie.
Still a kid who is not ready with a lot to prove but good luck to him.

Decent team out, might struggle for goals tho, stiill not convinced McBurnie is going to make it at this level, but if he dosent get a game we'l never know.

Not there tonight but from the sounds of it McBurnie not shining! I wouldnt give up on him but if Hanson was injured i def wouldnt want him as his replacement!

Tonight's further proof that we've no adequate backup for Hanson and Bennett.

PP must be losing patience with McLean..... I certainly have!

He is very young not there tonight as you say but give him time his day will come. Do not think City have anyone at present who could replace Hanson

Have to agree with pablo, we are very light weight up front, Mclean does a lot of running but no end product and as ive already stated McBurnie isnt and wont be good enough for this level. Shame as it would be great to see a young player make it.Yeates is another player we could have done with getting off our wage bill but hes contracted for another year.Lets hope some of the leeds money can be used on a couple of loan signings.

More important to beat Yeovil on Saturday and Oldham away in the League game later this year than this third rated Cup competition...Milton Keynes away in the League Cup is by far more important as well as victory leads to the last 16 and a potential home match against a top Premier League outfit....need McLean to hit goal trail quickly!

GLad we are done with this joke competition.....ok for reserves for a run out....DEfinately not a good idea to.stay in this cup for a small squad like ours. injuries and bookings.. league cup.and fa...yes..worth it. Lord mc lean needs to get his arse up to yorks and start gettin serious as he is a bleedin albatross around our necks with his.big big money ....until.he puts away at least a goal.every other game. hes an everready bunny without the drum.

The 'Leeds money' will be used to offset this supposed 'deficit' we have. Still, at least we won't have to start 'pimping' Hanson until next Christmas!!

Nige, have a word with yourself. Mclean needs to move to York? Why? He will further away from us than he is now! The fella was asked to move North and has done.

Criticise his goals column if you must, but stop beating him up for things he has changed!!!

I suppose that is always the risk you take when you set up not to lose, rather than try to win! I understand some players needed resting and others needed game time, but why play a left-back in midfield? Has Sharif now gone as he wasn't involved at all?

What it does show is that we need at least 1 more goalscorer. For all our possession, we rarely threatened their goal. Mclean continues to get the flack (on here and on other message boards), but McBurnie rarely tests the keeper either. Between them they aren't doing enough to press Hanson, Clarke & Bennett (and you could argue that the latter needs to deliver more too)....!

It's never nice to go out of any competition at the first hurdle, but looking at the team formation, I don't think this game was a high priority for PP. And, to be fair, other competitions and games are the priority. No doubt the match and performances will have given him a few pointers to areas in the team where he feels we are short, because it seems he's set to bring in a loanee or two from next week. Getting to Wembley again would be great, but, who knows we could still be back again this season!
