Ryan Sidebottom struck once with the new ball in the 13 overs of Lancashire’s second innings before tea on day three at Emirates Old Trafford as Yorkshire chase LV= County Championship victory.
Yorkshire’s first innings was declared at 610-6, their highest-ever total in Roses cricket, meaning Lancashire’s second innings started with 45 overs remaining before close with a deficit of 332.
Adam Lyth was out for a career-best 251, one short of Darren Lehmann’s record 252 score in this fixture back in 2001, while Adil Rashid was 159 not out. Their 296 stand was a White Rose record for the sixth wicket in all first-class cricket.
Sidebottom then bowled Luis Reece for four as the hosts slipped to 17-1, before taking tea at 40-1.
