PACESETTERS Oakworth were in an uncharitable mood on their visit to Division One bottom side Cowling as they eased to a ten-wicket win in the Mewies Solicitors Craven & District League.

Steve Filkin (6-19) did most of the damage as the hosts were all out for just 67, before Oakworth were led to victory by openers Ben Fothergill (34no) and Rob Hopkinson (27no).

This defeat condemns Cowling to a speedy return to Division Two, while their Cure Hill opponents can go a long way to clinching the title next weekend at Street Lane against second-placed Ingrow St John's.

Saints dismissed visiting Foulridge for 90 (Wasim Hussain 4-39) and then lost four wickets sealing the points as Imran Nadeem made 33 not out.

Barrowford are a further six points behind after their game against Riddlesden was called off without a ball being bowled due to a waterlogged ground.

Bingley Congs leapfrogged both Foulridge and Haworth Road after beating the latter side by 25 runs. Congs posted 163-9 (Andrew Copping 53) before Harry Greenhalgh (4-38) helped restrict the reply to 138-9.

Embsay drew level with Haworth after beating them by 65 runs. John Golson (63) steered Embsay to 190-9 (Damian Rowell 6-65) and Haroon Ali's 6-56 then left the hosts 125 all out.

Second-bottom Thornton kept up the pressure on the sides above them also battling against relegation as they won by three wickets at Crossflatts. The home side stumbled to 116-9 against Mark Paxton (7-41) and although Mohammed Adil claimed 5-25 in response, Rob Foster (50) and opener Kev Pollard (32no) steered Thornton home.

Division Two leaders Chatburn maintain their one-point advantage over Sutton after beating Wilsden by seven wickets. Andy Booth bowled through to finish with 7-74 as Wilsden made 199-9 (Pritesh Mistry 60), before Ben Threlfall (71no) and Neil Cartledge (68) headed the successful reply.

It was slow going at Royd Hill as hosts Sutton took 41.1 overs to make 92 (Chris Herbert 5-41) and Ingrow needed 45 overs to reach 89-6.

Glusburn are two points off a promotion spot after amassing 203-8 (Ian Simmons 51, Ben Howell 5-32) against Oakworth II, who could only respond with 162.

Long Lee were rolled over for 50 at Denholme, with Ryan Judson taking 5-15. This was in reply to the hosts' 212-5, of which Richard Taylor made 65 and Matt Wear 59.

Bradley posted 182-5 at home to bottom side Barrowford II, who fell 12 runs short of their target, while Sandy Lane got the better of fellow relegation battlers Hepworth & Idle by 16 runs.

The top-of-the-table clash in Division Three went the way of leaders Gargrave as the beat Skipton CI by 22 runs to extend their advantage to eight points. Gargrave were restricted to 166 as Darren Pighills took 7-46 but CI finished agonisingly short.

Ingrow St John's II (219-4 – Arfan Mahmood 103no, Saqib Iqbal 54) are just two points behind CI after handing Bradford & Bingley III (Martin Walker 73) a 73-run defeat.

Fourth-placed Airedale (73) tripped up at Embsay II, who reached their target for the loss of two wickets as Neville Allan made 40 not out.

Pendle Forest (93 – Corey Benfield 6-42) are fifth following their 31-run victory over Haworth WE (62 – Aftab Aftab 6-17).

Cononley (185-6 – Herbie Starkey 68) were 35 runs too strong for Thornton II (150), who slipped into the relegation places alongside Wilsden.

A magnificent 110 not out by 14-year-old Bilal Hamid could not save Wilsden (162-7) against Haworth Road II (209 – Paul Kirby 6-92).

Riddlesden II remain top of the Division Four pile by virtue of their three-wicket victory over eight-man Ingrow II.

Denholme II are a point behind after winning by seven wickets at Foulridge II, with Tim Shires (5-26) and Jack Harrison (76no) leading the way.

Chris Childs made 98 not out as Eldwick & Gilstead posted 186-9 (Tony Teale 5-47) at Bingley Congs II, who could only muster 110 in reply.

Hepworth & Idle II (97-7) dropped to fourth after being crushed by ten wickets at Airedale II (Simon Hunter 66no).

There was a high-scoring game at Glusburn II, where Haworth were indebted to a superb knock of 150 (five sixes, 18 fours) by Adrian Ratcliffe as they reached 229-9. The hosts reached their target with eight wickets down and five balls to spare as Mark Johnston hit 57.

Oakworth III received three points when Crossflatts II were unable to raise a side.

Chatburn II head Division Five by three points after piling up 241-4 (Mark Glover 109) at Long Lee, who replied with 134.

Gargrave II are second after beating Skipton CI II by 41 runs at Skipton Road, with Adam Carroll (58no) and Stuart Weatherill (5-47) the stars of the show.

Sutton are third after winning a close encounter with Cononley II by seven runs. Johnathan Crossley took 7-57 as the visitors made 168-8 (Kane Booker 64). In reply, Cononley skipper Richard Mansell reached 80 as his side pulled up on 161-9.
