THE Capital One Cup continues to be great news for Bradford City.

After all the excitement and drama of two seasons ago, it tells the story when the Sky TV cameras are coming up for the Leeds game.

For me, this is easily the biggest game of the round and they would be mad not to show it live. What an advert for Yorkshire football!

It's going to be a cracking game and I think it's a good time to play Leeds United.

Dave Hockaday has gone in there and they are currently a work in progress. That's his words.

Six or seven Italians have come into the squad and they are an unknown quantity in this country. Nobody knows how well they will settle.

You expect the keeper to be playing but you don't know how many others. They are very much going through a transitional period.

It's been a hectic summer since Massimo Cellino came in. He has cut everything back, which had to be done or they would have ended up in administration again.

You've got a new manager in his first job in League football after being at Forest Green. They've also got rid of the top scorer, so people are probably wondering what will happen.

Early in the season should be a good time to play them while they are settling in. That makes for a humdinger of a cup tie.

There was speculation over the weekend about whether Hockaday would still be in the job after the Watford defeat.

But he is and you can guarantee that he will have them grafting and working for one another. There's no room for prima donnas, bearing in mind all that's gone on.

They won't come and lie down. It will be a slogging match between two teams who are prepared to work their socks off.

The tempo will be hell for leather. It will be fast and furious with both sides giving it a go.

It will be interesting to see how their young centre backs Jason Pearce and Liam Cooper get on with James Hanson. Can they handle him at set-pieces?

I'm inclined to think that Leeds will throw in Matt Smith. I don't think he's really been used up to now but tactically they might have to put him in there for that aerial battle.

City will have to watch out for Billy Sharp. We know all about him from Donny, Sheffield United and Scunthorpe.

If you switch off for a second, he'll be there. He's the type of striker that doesn't give defenders a moment's peace and the back four must be on their guard at all times.

I'm sure his signing has given Leeds supporters a lot of hope. They might not know some of the other names coming in but he's a proven player who can be very effective.

For City, this will feel like a cup final. You'd think they would be the underdogs coming from the lower division but I'm not so sure.

They will be up for this and Leeds will have to turn up in the right frame of mind.

Knowing Hockaday's background in non-League, I'm sure he will have drilled that in – especially to some of the foreign lads who may not understand the significance of this fixture.

The good thing about City is that the majority of the players are British. They will recognise what this means to the club and the fans.

For anyone connected with Bradford, this is their Celtic and Rangers game. This is the big one.
