NO ISSUES are settled yet in Division One of the JCT600 Bradford League but, with only two matches to play, leaders Cleckheaton need only 16 points to retain the championship.

Meanwhile, bottom two clubs Morley and Yeadon look certain to be playing Division Two cricket next season after neither won at the weekend, with the two sides meeting next Saturday.

Left-arm spinner Andrew Deegan produced a match-winning performance, taking 7-22 as Cleckheaton beat Lightcliffe by 58 runs.

Highlight of the Cleckheaton innings was an explosive knock from overseas player Tanzeel Altaf, who smashed an unbeaten 55 from 26 balls with six sixes and two fours.

He was supported by Mally Nicholson (37), while off-spinner Josh Wheatley took 6-88.

Lightcliffe overseas player Suleman Khan top scored with 61 but received insufficient support as his side were bowled out for 152.

Second-placed Woodlands are 25 points behind after a 55-run win at East Bierley.

Scott Richardson (5-13) and Chris Brice (5-15) each took five wickets to bowl out Bierley for 92, former Woodlands batsman Dan Shuffe contributing nearly half his team's total with 42.

Woodlands had earlier been bowled out for 142 as skipper Pieter Swanepoel top-scored with 31. Richard Atkins was Bierley's most successful bowler, taking 4-29.

Outstanding bowling performances from paceman Jack Hartley (5-37) and slow left-arm spinner Noman Ali (4-2) enabled Bradford & Bingley to gain a five-wicket win at third-placed Hanging Heaton.

The home side were bowled out for a mere 81 and Bingley eased to victory following an opening stand of 51 by Scott Etherington (28) and Charlie Best (24).

Pudsey St Lawrence ended their run of three successive defeats with a seven-wicket win at Morley, who were bowled out for just 74 with Craig Wiseman taking 3-10.

Saints lost early wickets in pursuit of their modest target before skipper James Smith struck an unbeaten 58 with three sixes and six fours.

Bottom club Yeadon lost by 30 runs in a match reduced to 25 overs apiece at Pudsey Congs.

Skipper Gareth Phillips top-scored with 73 as Congs reached 179-7. Despite contributions from Oliver Stephenson (43), Damon Gormley (34no) and Tariq Mehboob (34), Yeadon were restricted to 149-5 in reply.

New Farnley share fourth place with St Lawrence after their nine-wicket win over Farsley.

Matthew Green's 32 was best as Farsley struggled to 114-7 in 38 overs, before Lee Goddard hastened New Farnley to their target in 18.2 overs with 57 from 38 balls, including a six and six fours.
