YORKSHIRE rounded off their Royal London One-Day Cup group campaign in style tonight against Hampshire to set up a home quarter-final against Durham next Thursday.

With his best ever bowling figures in List A cricket, Bradford-born Adil Rashid was the Vikings hero under floodlights at the Ageas Bowl.

He finished with 5-33 to help skittle Hampshire out for only 172, before the White Rose easily chased down their victory to win by six wickets with more than 20 overs to spare.

Yorkshire came into the match already assured of a place in the knockout stages but there was still plenty to play for with top spot in Group A and home advantage in the last eight up for grabs.

They knew only a win would guarantee first place and things never looked in doubt from the moment they won the toss.

Tim Bresnan and Jack Brooks both struck in their opening overs to reduce Hampshire to 5-2 and, despite the best efforts of Jimmy Adams, who finished on 91 not out, the die was cast.

Rashid was soon in on the act. First, he trapped Joe Gatting lbw for 13 when he shouldered arms and, after two more wickets left Hampshire on 161-6, the 26 year-old blew Hampshire’s tail away.

In the space of 16 mesmerising balls, he took four wickets for the loss of only six runs to wrap up a first five-wicket haul in this form of the game.

The 26-year-old was given a standing ovation as he left the pitch, before Alex Lees starred with the bat to see Yorkshire home.

He made 61 as the Vikings eased to victory, although they did survive a scare when debutant Tom Barber took two wickets in as many balls to leave them on 81-3.

Kane Williamson (33) and captain Andrew Gale (0) were the men to go but, thanks to Lees and Jonny Bairstow, who finished unbeaten on 45, there were no more alarms.

The victory was Yorkshire sixth win in eight matches in Group A and they will now face Durham at Headingley, who were fourth in Group B.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire fast bowler Moin Ashraf, who is out of contract this winter, is attracting interest from other counties. However, it is understood the White Rose are keen to keep 22-year-old, who has not played a first-team fixture this season.
