UNITY made no mistake in wrapping up the Division Two title in the Bradford Summer League with resounding victories in their final two matches.

Having established a six-point lead over nearest rivals Hermits B, Unity defeated Hermits C 9-1 and finished with a 10-0 success against Hermits D.

The next target for Unity was the Bower Cup and they faced Hermits B in their semi-final.

The first two sets between Dave Rawlins and Tony McGowan, followed by Dave Renton against Shamir Bose, finished equal and it was Doug Bartle who gave Unity the advantage with a 16-point win over George Bak.

Unity kept Hermits at bay and, with the final doubles featuring Rawlins and Bartle against Bak and McGowan, Unity had a seven-point cushion and they finished ten points ahead to reach the final.

Yeadon B meet Hermits D in the second semi-final but Unity will be favourites to take the trophy and the double.
