SALEM Athletic have won the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League's H Broadbent Trophy for the third time in four years.
They opted to bat on their won ground against Bradford Gymkhana but made a slow start and were 39-4 before Mohammad Amir came to the crease and battled his way through by making 48, while wickets were falling around him.
He shared a seventh-wicket partnership of 50 with Faiz Ur Rehman, which helped Salem reach 108 in 26.2 overs, Naveed Akram taking 4-27 off 8.2 overs.
However, Gymkhana’s batsmen found it even more difficult to score as only three batsmen reached double figures, with No 9 Naveed Akram scoring 19 out of the toal of 86.
Mehr Sultan's analysis was 10-3-21-5, and he was well supported by Mohammed Akif and Azhar Lal, who each took two wickets.
