THE chase for the Dales Council Division A championship may well be decided on August 30 when the top two meet.
Leaders Halifax Direct travelled to Roundhay Park to meet third-placed Leeds Sikh and recorded a 57-run win.
Direct batted first and made 155 before bowling Sikh out for only 98 to extend their lead over them to 45 points.
It means that Halifax Direct and New Wortley are set to fight it out for the title.
The game of the day featured mid-table Farnley Hill and Adel. Hill made 171 with David Farrell hitting 56 and Sam Pawson taking 5-30.
Adel lost their final wicket with the scores tied at 171. David Farrell (5-37) shone for Farnley Hill.
Second-placed New Wortley managed to reduce the deficit at the top by scoring 258-8 at Laisterdyke.
Abdul Rauf and Saeed Mirza both made 54 while Usman Rasool hit an unbeaten 40. Adam Hopkins was the main wicket taker with 4-53.
Pudsey St Lawrence could only manage 101 in reply. Jonny Beck (45) was their top scorer as New Wortley collected maximum points.
Their opponents, Pudsey Congs, were dismissed for 135 with Muhammad Adrees taking 5-26.
Cookridge continued their good run at Baildon scoring 245-5. Jhangir Gulzar (80) and Ray Kerfoot (50) were the key batsmen for Cookridge. Baildon made 100-7 in reply.
Savile Stars had a welcome win. They made 235-8 before restricting Tong Park Esholt to 180-8. Jai Aujla scored an unbeaten 80.
Division C leaders Crompark gained 15 points after Baildon B conceded.
Morley, in second place, made 198-7 with Callum Wal-ker (65) and Ben Payne (55) leading the way before restricting Wibsey Park Chapel to just 65.
Third-placed Thornbury B scored 274-9 thanks to Usman Hafiz (96) and Nasir Mahroof (74), before skittling Cookridge C for 91.
