Girlington beat Salem by eight runs to extend their lead in Group A of the Mutual Sunday School League to 61 points.

Girlington made 182 with M Azad scoring 41 and Shahid Iqbal taking 4-44 for Salem.

In reply, Salem were bowled out for 174 with M Siraj scoring 57.

The teams who were promoted from Group B, Apperley Bridge and Yorkshire LPS, met in a relegation battle.

Zabeem Ullah took 6-32 as Apperley Bridge beat Yorkshire LPS by three wickets. Ghazanfer Ali made 92 not out for LPS while Zaka Ullah scored 64 to help Apperley Bridge to their target.

Heaton, who are also in relegation trouble, got a winning draw against second-placed Interlink.

Heaton scored 279-7 with Shokat Ali making 176 not out to take his tally of runs to 322 in the last two games.

Interlink made 223-6 with Ibrahim D Bismillah (71) and Ismail Adam (75) sharing a second-wicket partnership of 134.

Bradford Gymkhana are second to bottom after losing to Bradford Moor by 100 runs.

Bradford Moor scored 190-6, and Gymkhana were 90 all out in reply with Abdul Hameed taking 5-29.

Cambing are on their way to safety after beating Great Horton Church by 81 runs. Cambing made 209-9 with Fazal Wazir scoring 113.

Group B is still wide open with the top four teams battling for promotion and the bottom six fighting relegation.

Omars have increased their promotion chances after beating VVS Laxman by 125 runs.

They posted he day’s highest score of 301-9 with Shmile Khan making 100 not out. He shared a last-wicket stand of 140 with Hashaam Raja (45). VVS Lazman were 176 all out.

Salem are second after beating Girlington by two wickets. M Akif took 6-27 for Salem.

Hallfield beat Greenfield by one wicket and Great Horton Church defeated Allerton by 128 runs.

Tariq Rashid made 120 not out and Danyaal Ahmed (49) as Great Horton Church made 224-5 before dismissing Allerton for 86.

There are new leaders in Group C after Mandhata beat Yorkshire Friends by 45 runs.

TABS require 34 points from their remaining four games to clinch the Group D title after beating Great Horton Meths by 41 runs.

Cambing remain in the race for promotion after beating Buttershaw St Paul’s by eight wickets. They bowled their rivals out for 56 with Steve Baker taking 5-12.
