I’VE heard there’s a huge rivalry between Bradford and Leeds and I can’t wait to be involved.

They’ve got to come to our place as well and I’m sure the stadium will be as full as it can be. All the supporters will be behind us and we’ll be desperate to get the result.

You think back to the atmosphere at the Arsenal and Villa games and there’s no reason why it can’t be the same.

It was the best draw in my opinion. I’d have taken Leeds over Man United because it will be such a massive occasion.

I’ve played in quite a few derbies over my career – the Sheffield one, Southampton and Portsmouth, Derby and Leicester – and they are the moments you want to savour as a footballer.

We certainly fancy our chances because we know what we’re capable of if we’re on the front foot and playing well. Valley Parade is a hard place to come and we’ve got to make sure that’s the same for Leeds.

I’ve got friends who are Leeds fans and my phone didn’t stop after the draw came out. They were all giving me a bit of stick so I want to try and get one over them on the night.

But there are a lot of league games before we can think about Leeds. Our aim now is to get a few wins under our belt and build more confidence going into that.

We couldn’t have started any better. Last Saturday was a fantastic win and everyone pulled their finger out – nothing less than that will do when you’ve got such a busy period.

The manager wants to keep people fresh so there will be changes. I’m sure the same XI could play every match but you want everyone to be on top of their game.

Mezza came in at Morecambe and he was saying that’s his first 90 minutes including pre-season. He’s got that time under his belt now and will be that little bit sharper for the next time.

I’d like to say congratulations to Gary Liddle after his baby daughter was born. We’ve been giving him stick because he never drinks coffee when we get them in – that will change now he’s got all those sleepless nights to come!
