AIDEN Winnard was the hero for Jer Lane as they swiftly gained revenge for their Parish Cup final defeat to Copley in the Foster's Halifax League Premier Division.

However, second-teamer Winnard only got the nod when Nabil Khan injured a finger moving a sightscreen before the match started.

"It was quite a bad cut on some metalwork at the back of the sightscreen, and 'Bobby' went to hospital. He is expected to be out for two to three weeks," said Jer's Andrew Pinfield.

Winnard (6-2-18-0) bowled economically in Copley's 140-7 and then top-scored with 31 at No 9 in the reply of 143-8 as Lane stayed on course to retain their title.
