MORECAMBE boss Jim Bentley reckons tonight’s Globe Arena clash is one of the stand-out ties of the Capital One Cup first round.

The Shrimps go into their opening home game buoyed by Saturday’s 3-0 win at Dagenham, which included a goal from former City loanee Kevin Ellison.

And Bentley, who is unlikely to tinker with that starting line-up, is buzzing for the visit of the 2013 losing finalists.

He said: “Once Big Kev put us in front we never really looked in any danger and there were some great performances all over the park.

“It was a fantastic way to kick off the season and means we are in good spirit for tonight’s game, which I think is one of the ties of the round.

“Games between the two clubs have always been exciting over the years and tonight should be no different. There is definitely a lot at stake as both clubs have found out in recent years.

“Bradford were terrific advocates for lower league football when they got to the final. They were nearly always the underdogs in the later stages but their performances over Arsenal and Aston Villa were brilliant to watch.

“For our part we have had some great results in this cup over the past few years and created a few headlines with wins over higher league opposition.

“We all loved the occasion when Newcastle visited here last season and I’m sure we would all love a repeat of that.”
