THE three-team chase for the Division A title may well have narrowed down to just two after the latest round of results.

The big game of the day saw second-in-the-table New Wortley entertain third-placed Leeds Sikh at Roundhay Park.

Batting first, Sikh reached 157-7 (Farhan Saeed 4-36) from their allocated 45 overs. In reply, Saeed (48) was highly instrumental in guiding Wortley to 160-7 (Hari Seehra 4-52) which increased their lead over their local rivals to a more than useful 25 points.

Leaders Halifax Direct (186, Ansar Mehmood 56, Antsham Ahmed 5-46) moved seven points clear of New Wortley after recording a 34-run win at home to Pudsey Congs (152, Ijaz Matloob 4-24).

Shipley Providence (210-9, Adil Mehmood 47, Johnny Thompson 45, Nasir Hussain 5-38) maintained fourth spot with a comfortable 114- run at home to Savile Stars, where Imran Patel hit 51 out of Stars' response of just 96 (Adrees Muhammed 4-16).

Tong Park Esholt (112-5, Martin Cuthbertson 47) earned local bragging rights with a five-wicket win at home to basement side Baildon (109, Adam Hodgson 4-27).

Adel could only make 108 as their woes were added to in a 76-run home defeat at the hands of Pudsey St Lawrence, for whom Johnny Beck hit an unbeaten 73 out of Saints' 184-7.

Cookridge (237-5) continued their march up the league after a five-wicket success at Farnley Hill, where Dom Wyatt was in the runs again (72), ably assisted by Colin Oates hitting an unbeaten 50. This was in response to the home side's target of 236-7, which saw Gary Beaumont hit 84 and Tony Leighton 51.

The individual batting performance of the day in Division B occurred at Thornbury, where home batsman Wasim Ahmed hit 179 out of an enormous 388-9 (Asar Naqvi 6-58), with Haroon Tariq also weighing in with 95. In reply, the shell-shocked visitors Shipley Providence B were dismissed for just 104 (Waqas Abbas 4-52).

Leaders Bradford Moor (236, Irfan Sadiq 63, Naveed Andrabi 57, Ramees Khan 6-43) enjoyed a 61-run win at Cookridge B, who replied with 175-8 (Dave Kennard 57).

Division C leaders Crompark (185) recorded a 64-run win at Drighlington-Whitehall (121) and second-placed Morley (119-6) had a four-wicket success at Pudsey St Lawrence B (116).
