Leeds Rhinos 14, Bradford Bulls 20

LEE Gaskell scored a dramatic late try to give Bradford a famous victory in the historic final Super League derby between these old rivals.

The Bulls will ply their trade outside of the top flight for the first time in over 40 years next season but they seem determined to bow out in style.

They went toe to toe with an understrength Leeds side for the vast majority of last night’s clash before Gaskell scampered clear with six minutes remaining to settle matters.

It was a deserved success for Jimmy Lowes’ men, who showed no little spirit and skill at times during an absorbing clash.

Bradford led early on when former Rhinos winger Danny Williams touched down in the right corner from Luke Gale’s kick.

But Leeds soon levelled when Mitch Achurch showed outstanding footwork to glide past the statuesque visiting defence to score.

Bulls prop Adam Sidlow was then sinbinned for holding down Josh Walter but the scores remained locked at 4-4 at the break.

Bradford edged back in front when Gale touched down his kick but Leeds replied again when Brett Delaney went over from Danny McGuire’s clever grubber kick.

Yet there was an undeniable unity about Bradford and they were duly rewarded.

After Gale scored a penalty to make it 12-10, Leeds forged back in front when Luke Briscoe scored in the right corner but Bradford were not finished.

They snatched the win in the 74th minute as Gaskell, who has committed himself to the club for next season’s Championship campaign, showed impressive footwork to gallop clear in front of the jubilant Bulls supporters.

Gale converted and then booted a last-minute penalty top seal a famous win.

What a turnaround all of a sudden we know how to defend. Pity Jimmy wasn`t here earlier. No matter what the distracters will say about the strength of the Leeds side, we beat Leeds - the best feeling in the world COYB

Btw my comment wasn't trolling, it's speaking as a City fan.
Coming up across teams like Morecambe and Accrington makes you really appreciate it when you turn a team like Sheffield Utd over.
