ALL eyes will be on Racheal Bamford at 7.35pm tonight in the Women's 3000m steeplechase final at Hampden Park.

She will be up against Scottish favourite Eilish McColgan and a trio of usually dominant Kenyans.

The Otley AC athlete has a personal best of 9min 54.57sec and she will be hoping to improve on that in only her first year of competitively running the event.

Last year she won the Esholt John Carr 5K in 16min 50sec and was tenth female in the Abbey Dash 10K at Leeds in 34:46. But all her races in 2014 have been on the track as she hones her speed and technique.

Canadian Nicole Sifuentes reached the 1500m final on Monday while team-mate Taylor Milne from Guelph, near Toronto, is in Friday's final of the men's steeplechase. Both have benefited from the Belgian summer training camps organized by Airedale Athletics for Commonwealth middle-distance athletes.

A week on Saturday sees the final matches in the NORTHERN TRACK AND FIELD LEAGUE.

Wakefield will be hoping to clinch the First Division title, while Skyrac will want to round off a great season with third in the second tier.

Spenborough can gain promotion to the Second Division if they overhaul St Helens, while Bingley ought to be able to overtake Cleethorpes in their Division Three EC promotion struggle.

Huddersfield's Longwood Harriers are assured of promotion from Division Four, with Bradford-Airedale trying to round off an improved season in the same match.

Sunday saw the second running of the SALTAIRE SHAKER 15K trail-race, attracting 169 runners and a large group from Keighley & Craven and other local clubs.

Otley's Scott Harrington was a clear winner in 53min 39sec, almost two minutes ahead of Bingley's Andy Siddle. Marco Gvero (Keighley & Craven) beat Otley's Tom Midgley for fourth.

Sophie Garrad and Susan Robinson were top ladies. Sheffield-based Jenny Chambers was an excellent third and first over-60. Eccleshill's Reena Mistry gave Claire Greenwood (Baildon) a close run for fourth.
