DIVISION Two leaders Undercliffe moved another step closer to a return to the JCT600 Bradford League top flight with a 31-run Sunday win over third-placed Keighley.

Hamid Khan made 79 to guide Undercliffe, who had also beaten Hartshead Moor on Saturday, to 193 – a total which looked like being much bigger until their progress was checked by an excellent spell of off-spin bowling from Richard Robinson.

His impressive figures of 14-7-11-4 contrasted sharply with the return for Australian paceman Andrew King, whose five wickets cost 95 runs.

Keighley, who lost to Spen Victoria the previous day as well, made a steady start before losing wickets to impressive young spinner Amir Hussain (3-36) and overseas player Nawaz Sardar (3-46) and they were dismissed for 162.

Second-placed Saltaire bounced back from the disappointment of Saturday's five-run defeat by Great Horton to beat Brighouse by nine wickets after dismissing them for just 63.

Off-spinner Ijaz Khan took 4-19 and Israr Ullah 3-21 before an undefeated 39 by Ullah ensured an easy Saltaire win.

Skipper Greg Pickles hammered 111 off 82 balls as he guided fourth-placed Gomersal, who had lost to Bowling Old Lane on Saturday, to a 116-run win over his old club Idle.

The left-hander struck four sixes and 12 fours as well as sharing in two century partnerships as his side made 335-4.

Pickles and opener Adam Greenwood, who made 96, put on 106 for the third wicket, while Jonathan Boynton (68no) helped his captain add 113 for the fourth wicket.

Idle's overseas player Nik Cumming led their reply of 219 by making a fluent 95, while opener Chris Wynd hit 53 before Josh Fell (6-44) wrapped up the victory.

It meant a double disappointment for Idle following their Saturday defeat to Baildon.

After waiting 17 games for their first victory of the season – beating Brighouse by three runs on Saturday – Windhill recorded their second in just 24 hours as they defeated Spen Victoria by two wickets.

Khurram Rashid set up the win by taking 5-25 as he and Salman Ali (3-48) helped bowl out Spen Victoria for 183 (Peter Jackson 52).

Former Spen player Jack Holland then made 47, Shoaib Iqbal 44 and Zac Wheatley 32 to see Windhill home despite the efforts of Abid Awain, who picked up 5-76 to his earlier 33 with the bat.

Experienced seamer Zubair Najeeb (4-27) and Adam Shabir (4-39) bowled out Great Horton for 117 (Waheed Rehman 42) as Bowling Old Lane secured a welcome seven-wicket win, skipper Amjid Hussain making a decisive 48.

Recent signing Richard Ferry hit his second half-century of the weekend as Hartshead Moor sneaked a two-wicket win over Bankfoot.

Ferry, who top-scored with 53 in Saturday's loss to Undercliffe, made 65 and helped his side stave off the efforts of Nigel Hanson (6-50) to overhaul the visitors' total of 154 (Fahad Ul-Haq 4-32).
