LEEDS Bradford MCCU failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Twenty20 Competition.

Despite bowling out Jamaica Intercollegiate Sports Association for 98 in their opening Group Two game at Aston Rowant, Leeds Bradford were skittled themselves for 72 in the 19th over.

The West Yorkshire team then faced South Africa’s Assupol TUKS at Wormsley Cricket Ground and made 109 before losing by seven wickets.

Playing for pride against Bangladesh’s University of Liberal Arts, Leeds Bradford made 189-5, Chris Wakefield top-scoring with 49 off 40 balls and Liam Watkinson making 40 off 22 balls. The Bangladeshis then collapsed to 69 all out, Izal Khan making 34.
