Leigh have signed former Bulls player Michael Platt from Salford.

The 30-year-old centre, who made just three appearances in his second spell at Salford, has joined the Centurions initially on loan for the rest of the season but will take up a two-year contract from 2015.

Leigh coach Paul Rowley said: "We identified one area where we needed to add more competition and that was the centre berth. It's a difficult area to fill and has become something of a niche position in rugby league.

"In acquiring Michael's services we have someone who is renowned as a fantastic trainer and athlete. He will add strike power and competition to our edge."
