THERE will be no hat-trick of titles this season for Jer Lane in the Foster's Halifax League.

The Premier Division leaders, who are also through to the Parish Cup final, were beaten in the last eight of the league's Twenty20 competition.

Jer made 153 and Booth responded with 155-3. Second-team swing bowler Jon Midgley has been Booth's trump card with the ball in the Twenty20 and he took four wickets.

Jordan Laban and Paul Chapman had given Jer a decent start, while Raqeeb Younas and Jason Gelder also made around 30.

Chris Shannon was out to the first ball of Booth's reply but Rob Laycock made 50 retired.

Patrick Thomas, Richard Laycock and Jack Heptonstall added useful contributions as the home side knocked off the runs in just 12 overs.

The other three teams through to finals day at SBCI on Sunday, July 27 are Copley, Southowram and Mytholmroyd.

Copley followed up their Parish Cup semi-final success at Warley by beating Sowerby St Peters in a thriller. Copley made 164-3, St Peters replying with 163-6.

The victors will play Southowram, who beat Wibsey Park Chapel, while Calder Valley rivals Mytholmroyd and Booth square up in the other semi.

Mytholmroyd completed their victory over holders Thornton after making 236, Thornton being limited to 178-5 the following week after a weather delay.

Play was only possible in one match in the league on Saturday due to the rain.

Division One first-team hosts Sowerby Bridge CI made 126-5 off 28 overs against Queensbury before the match was abandoned.

Chris Dalby (33no) and Charles Hyland (22no) had added an unbroken 50 for the sixth wicket before the heavens opened, Simon Wood having earlier scored 22.

Matthew Johnson was Queensbury's most successful bowler with 2-29.
