Bradford Union players Ben Mountain and Will Whiteoak made it to the matchplay stages of the Yorkshire Amateur Championship at Alwoodley but bowed in the first round.
Mountain (pictured) shot the second best round of the afternoon strokeplay qualifying, carding a 71 to add to his opening 78.
However, the Bradford and Moor Allerton member was beaten 3&2 by Wetherby's Matthew Pearson.
Shipley player Whiteoak also made an early exit from the knockout stages, losing 3&1 to Fulford's Rob Moore having earlier qualified by one shot with rounds of 77 and 76.
Julian Taylor, of York, won the trophy after romping to a 9&7 success over Hallamshire's Oliver Smith.
