Bradford Bulls 30, Catalan Dragons 32

ELLIOTT Whitehead scored a late try which condemned the Bulls to defeat in Jimmy Lowes’ first home game in charge.

The former Bradford second-rower grounded the ball from a kick in the 77th minute to level the scores at 30-30 before Sam Williams’ conversion won it for Catalan.

Tom Olbison opened the scoring early on before Morgan Escare soon replied but tries from Adam Henry and Jamal Fakir put the Bulls in control.

Vincent Duport’s try and Luke Gale’s penalty made it 18-12 at the break but Gale’s first try straight after the restart made it 24-12.

But Catalan hit back through Ben Pomeroy and Julian Bousquet to make it 24-24 before Williams’ penalty made it 26-24 in the 66 th minute.

Yet Gale then bagged his second try and converted to put Bradford 30-26 in front before Whitehead struck and Williams added the extras.

Well done lads, shame about the result but well played. Enjoyable match, sometimes it's not about the winning but the playing of the game.
