BULLS coach Jimmy Lowes has assured Luke George and Jamie Foster they still have roles to play this season despite the arrival of Danny Williams.

George was dropped for last weekend’s trip to Warrington while Foster has not played for five games, with Salford loanee Williams looking certain to start against Catalan on Sunday.

Lowes said yesterday he is keen to sign Williams on a permanent deal but insisted the increased competition for places can only benefit all parties.

He said: “What Danny brings at the moment is experience and that’s something which both Jamie Foster and Luke George can learn from.

“Jamie and Luke are good players and, like I’ve said to them, they are going to feature for us this season.

“In the past two weeks, Jamie has really rolled his sleeves up and been a fantastic trainer.

“Strength in depth is always massively important in rugby because it’s very physical and you play a lot of games.”

Lowes said his search for new recruits for next season was continuing behind the scenes, with the Bulls effectively offering their targets a deal in the event of survival and relegation.

He explained: “You can only let them know what’s on the table with a Plan A or a Plan B and then the players have got to make a decision based on that.

“It’s a challenge for the club but it’s not going to be easy.

“You must go and play rugby in some tough places in the Championship but the long-term plan if we do go down is to come back up and be a force in Super League again.

“It’s alright me sat here saying that – we’ve got to put it into action.

“Right now we are in Super League but in a month’s time we might not be.

“We will cross that bridge when we come to it and plan accordingly. We’ll approach players, let them know the situation and it’s up to them if they want to jump on board.”

Lowes, who revealed Dale Ferguson was close to making a welcome return to action, wished Leon Pryce well after he chose to join Hull on a two-year deal despite interest from the Bulls.

The head coach added: “I haven’t spoken to Leon but why wouldn’t the club show interest in a former Bradford player who has won many titles and played for Great Britain?

“He went to Catalan and has been an integral part of their team for the past few years.

“Fair play to Hull, they have come in and offered him a good package and he has decided to take that. As a club I don’t think we put a package together, but good luck to Leon. He’s a good lad and he will only ever want the best for Bradford.”
