Due to vandalism and the gates being left open repeatedly, the gates on the otter fence at Knotford will be locked until further notice. However, the main gate to the field side will remain unlocked to allow members to park but they must be closed at all times.

These actions have been taken to protect fish stocks from predation and any member found to have left gates open will be expelled.

Meanwhile, Howard Foster smashed the match record for Raskelf with a catch of crucians and ide weighing 62lb 10oz in Sunday’s officials' match. Simon Freer came second with 33lb 4oz, followed by Ian Bradley with 33lb.

Saturday’s junior match, also at Raskelf, was won by Harry Sandham with a mixed net of F1s, crucians and skimmer bream weighing 26lb 4oz. Liam Jones caught 15lb 4oz of mainly crucians for second, followed by Sam Taylor with 14lb 4oz.

The under-11s' section was won by Reece Harrison with 13lb 9oz, closely followed by Zak Freer with 13lb 8oz.

Some sections of the River Calder will be closed on Sunday for the first round of this year's Calder League, which draws at The Railway Inn at 9am.
