BRADFORD City's imprint is growing at FC Halifax Town.

Following the announcement of Jon Worthington as player-physio, another former Bantam – Steve Williams – has joined the Shaymen.

Centre back Williams scored seven goals in 78 games for City before loan spells at Inverness and Barrow.

Worthington, the 31-year-old former Huddersfield Town captain who made 15 appearances for the Bantams in 2011, was troubled with an ankle injury throughout last season.

Halifax manager Neil Aspin explained: "We have a physio in Dan Stolworthy. Jon Worthington is someone who I respect and I have got to know him as a player and he still will be a player.

"He has been taking his degree course in physiotherapy and was somebody I was keen on being part of the staff. He can combine the roles this year – being on the medical side and also still being registered as a player.

"Jon is a good addition. He is very important to us in that he is experienced and he is good with the players. He was doing a lot of it last year and the players were happy working with him."

Meanwhile, Town have made three more signings – former Cambridge United full back Kevin Roberts, striker Scott Boden – who, like Williams, has signed from Macclesfield – and defender James Bolton, who had a successful loan spell with the Shaymen last spring.

Roberts, 27, arrives after a four-year stint at the Abbey Stadium, making over 100 appearances for the Us.

His final act for them was to lift the Skrill Premier play-off trophy after donning the armband late on following injury to captain Ian Miller.

Roberts, who began his career at Chester, where he played 81 times over four years, was one of six players released by Cambridge after helping the side gain promotion to League Two.

Boden, 24 and 6ft 4in, started his career at home-town club Sheffield United but made his mark at Chesterfield, scoring 15 times in 104 appearances for the Spireites.

They join winger Richard Peniket and striker Ross Dyer in landing at Halifax this summer.
