LEON Pryce has admitted he would have rejoined the Bulls next season had they not been facing relegation from Super League.

The former Bradford star, who will return to Odsal with Catalan on Sunday, spoke to chairman Marc Green and chief executive Robbie Hunter-Paul about heading home in 2015.

Pryce's three-year deal with the Dragons is up at the end of the season and he will join Hull FC on a two-year contract.

He also attracted interest from Castleford, Hull KR, Wakefield and Featherstone and said he would have liked to have been reunited with Jimmy Lowes if the club's position not been so perilous.

The 32-year-old told the T&A: "I talked to Bradford for a while and I considered it very strongly.

"It's my home-town club and it would have been very nice to get back on board, especially with Jimmy having been appointed and Robbie being at the club.

"Marc has taken over and he seems like a good bloke. It sounds like he really wants to get the club back to where it belongs.

"Marc has been fantastic with me, Robbie has been top class too and obviously we're really good friends anyway. It was a very attractive option to come back to Bradford."

While Elliott Whitehead has enjoyed an outstanding season at Catalan, earning a call-up to the senior England train-on squad, Pryce has also had a fine campaign.

He believes Green will assemble a squad capable of competing for an immediate return to Super League next season if, as seems increasingly likely, the Bulls are relegated.

Pryce said: "From what Marc Green was saying, Bradford will be looking to invest heavily in the squad to make sure they have got a side capable of coming straight back up. If they do that, then it's not so bad.

"Obviously they have been dealt a very big blow with the points deduction. There is nothing the players can do about that – that's been taken out of their hands.

"But if they can get the signings in, they can get a squad good enough to get them straight back up. That's the next best thing after going down.

"I would definitely come back to play for Bradford if they were in Super League. There wouldn't have been much to think about, to be honest. But they weren't in Super League – that's the only problem."
