THE Bulls have signed Danny Williams on a one-month loan deal.

Williams arrives from the Salford Red Devils, where he has spent the past four seasons, and goes straight into contention for the Super League visit of Catalan Dragons on Sunday.

The 27-year-old winger has scored three tries in nine appearances for the Red Devils this year, having previously had stints with Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers, Hull FC, Hull Kingston Rovers and, in rugby union, Newcastle Falcons.

Williams says he is relishing the prospect of featuring in Bulls colours, insisting he is already focused on fighting for his place in the Bradford line-up.

He said: "I am looking forward to the opportunity. Bradford is a big club and I am thankful to be a part of it.

"There is plenty of competition for places in the backline here, which can only be healthy for the club. So if I train well, hopefully I will get the nod for this weekend.

"It looks as though I will be battling against my parent club as the Bulls fight for Super League survival.

"And as much as I want Salford to do well, I am a Bradford player now and I want to do my very best for the club."

Williams will begin training with his new team-mates tomorrow and Bulls coach James Lowes believes the dual-code talent will prove a vital addition.

"Danny is a very good player and he is a very experienced player," said Lowes.

"He will certainly add quality to the squad and we are very pleased the opportunity has come along.

"I am sure Danny can enhance what we have already got. It always helps to have competition for places, which is something we do not have enough of at the minute.

"He starts training in the morning, so we will see how he settles in and develops. He is very in contention, though, for the game against Catalan – which is another big one for us."
