OPENER Hamid Khan hit a century as Undercliffe extended their lead at the top of Bradford League Division Two to 18 points with a hard-earned 22-run victory over second-placed Saltaire at Roberts Park.
Khan struck one six and 16 fours in an unbeaten 113 that was the cornerstone of a challenging total of 251-6. Matthew Crowther (33) and Liam Brearley (33) provided support.
Saltaire were undaunted by the target and were in the hunt while their impressive overseas player Israr Ullah was at the wicket. He made a fine 70 but once he departed Saltaire lost momentum and finished on 229-9 as Zeeshan Qasim took 3-47.
Keighley bounced back from Saturday’s defeat by Saltaire with a 181-run victory against bottom team Windhill. Max Davidson (78no), skipper Richard Wear (51) and Jonathon Wilkinson (51no) guided their side to 223-3.
Windhill were rolled over for just 42 as Andrew King (5-31) and Joe Stead (4-10) polished them off in double quick time.
Seddon smashed four sixes and six fours as he capitalised on the hard work of Adam Greenwood who made a vital 87.
There were three half centuries in the Brighouse innings with Muhammad Khurshid (81), Zafar Jadoon (66) and Fakhar Hussain (57) finding conditions to their liking at Oxford Road.
Overseas player Waqas Maqsood played a key role in Baildon’s two-wicket win at Spen Victoria. Maqsood took (3-59) as he and Jamie Abbott (3-8) helped restrict the home side to 135, Peter Jackson top-scoring with 32.
Baildon were made to struggle in reply as Rob Burton took 6-52 but Maqsood made an unbeaten 39 to see them home.
Overseas player Sandeep Bavanaka produced another good bowling performance as Bankfoot defeated Great Horton by four wickets. Bavanaka took 5-45 as Great Horton were dismissed for 152, Nadeem Khan top-scoring with 47. Bankfoot were steered to victory by Aaqib Uppal, 59no).
Skipper Will Smith made 50 as Hartshead Moor secured their second win of the weekend by beating Bowling Old Lane by four wickets, Tahir Khan (36) and Khurram Maqsood (35) top-scored for Old Lane as they struggled against the bowling of Nasseer Sudagar (4-30).
