TWO clubs have been thrown out of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League's blue-riband knockout competition.

Heaton and Greenfield, whose second-round Sir James Roberts Cup match was abandoned after an altercation, have not only been banned from the 2014 event but also from next year's competition.

Both clubs appealed against their punishment, but to no avail. Both have also been put on probation for the 2015 season.

In addition, Greenfield skipper Ibrar Ahmed has been banned for eight weeks, four weeks of which have been suspended.

The upshot of the club bans is that Mandhata received a bye into the semi-final – the first time they have progressed so far.

Sir James Roberts Cup semi-finals: Girlington A v Mandhata, Bradford Gymkhana A v Bradford Moor. Matches to be played on Sunday, July 20.

H Broadbent Trophy second-round draw: Bradford Gymkhana B v Buttershaw St Paul's, Central YMCA v Salem Athletic B, Mayfield B v Great Horton Church B, Yorkshire LPS B v Girlington B. Matches to be played on Sunday, July 6.
