WITH ten wins, Otley are the most successful club in the history of the Aire-Wharfe League's knockout Waddilove Cup competition.
But it has been 26 years since they lifted the trophy and they face some tough challenges if they are to end that drought this year in a final to be staged on their own ground.
Tomorrow they travel to Horsforth for a quarter-final. Normally, as a side second in Division One taking on a Division Three outfit, they would be hot favourites – but Horsforth are a formidable opponent this year and already have a top-flight scalp, having knocked out Pool in the previous round.
Even if they do make it to the second successive semi-final, Otley will have another formidable hurdle in the winner of the Guiseley v Bilton tie, two sides snapping on their heels in the championship race.
Collingham and Ben Rhydding, two teams filling the Division One relegation spots at the moment, do cup battle in a repeat of the 2012 final, which Collingham won.
This weekend's final match sees Addingham, giant-killers of the last round over Rawdon, travel to Adel, who are third in Division Two. Could the side sitting 35th out of 36 in the league pull off a shock result again?
