Yorkshire lost Andrew Gale and Alex Lees on their way to a lunchtime score of 211-4 from 53 overs against Warwickshire on day two at Edgbaston.

In reply to 228, the White Rose men resume this afternoon only 17 runs in arrears as they aim to log their fourth LV= County Championship win of the season.

Thirty runs came off the first 19 balls this morning, including seven boundaries, as Gale and Lees made a racing start from 82-2.

But Gale fell for 49 when a skied top-edge off a pull at Chris Wright was caught behind by Tim Ambrose, leaving the score at 112-3 in the 29th over.

Lees (64) brought up his half-century off 75 balls before he fell to a more regulation catch behind off Chris Woakes with the score on 150.

Jonny Bairstow and Aaron Finch then shared 61 unbroken for the fifth wicket. Bairstow, now on 49 not out, was dropped at second slip two balls after the Lees dismissal. Finch resumes on 34, with both having hit a six in their innings.
