BRADFORD Park Avenue have signed Scott Kerr following his release from Grimsby Town at the end of last season.

The 32-year-old midfielder has made over 300 appearances in the Football League and Conference, including spells at Bradford, Hull, Scarborough, Lincoln and York.

Kerr is the third new arrival at the Horsfall Stadium, joining fellow recruits Bradley Barraclough and Paddy Miller in the Avenue dressing room.

The club have also retained eight players to date, including last season's leading goal-scorer and player of the year Paul Walker and captain Nathan Hotte.

Kerr said: "Despite having interest from other clubs, this move seemed to be right for me.

"Since being released by Grimsby, it's been a difficult time to try and find a new club.

"But after speaking with the Avenue board and the management team, they sold it to me. I'm excited by the way they play football which suits my game.

"I still believe that I'm one of the best central midfielders in the Football Conference and hopefully my experience will help some of the younger players here.

"I've joined the club to be successful and the minimum has to be pushing for a play-off spot."

John Deacey is excited to have Kerr in his squad for the 2014-15 campaign.

The Avenue manager said: "Scott has real quality. He is a proven winner and will bring great experience which will hopefully help our development.

"I want to thank the board who have given me fantastic support to sign Scott."
