OXENHOPE, leaders of the Foster's Halifax League Division One, have suffered their first defeat of the season.

All looked to be going to plan for the visitors at Luddenden Foot as their quick bowlers again dominated again.

Adam Bailey took 6-38 and Ben Addison chipped in with three wickets as the hosts made 143, Joel Cleary scoring 30 and Jamie Hothershall 35.

However, Oxenhope were never in the hunt in reply as Tom Hosker (4-57) and Mark Richardson (4-31) ran through them as they were dismissed for 112, although last pair Lewis Hopkinson (38) and Duncan Tetley (16no) more than did their bit.

SBCI are only a one point behind and would have gone top had they been able to take Northowram Hedge Top's last wicket.

Queensbury had started the day second but lost by four wickets at Low Moor and slipped to third.

Mark Stokes took 3-46 and followed up with 63 not out as Moor passed Queensbury's 177, Carl Harrison hitting 59 for the victors.

Inactive Cullingworth lost the leadership of Division Two to Bridgeholme, who won by three wickets at Stones.

Matthew Jordan's 5-11 off 11 overs helped send Old Crossleyans packing for 55 at Bradford Park Avenue, and Harry Reynolds' 3-16 in reply was insufficient as Wibsey Park Chapel won by six wickets.

Division One leaders Sowerby Bridge took only one point at Warley , and their ten-point lead at the top was wiped away in one fell swoop by champions Jer Lane, who made 220-6 to pick up 12 points at Triangle.

Thornton triumphed by 51 runs at home to Sowerby St Peters, who are in a relegation berth.

Gareth Grogan's 6-76 was in vain for St Peters as Nik Hutchinson's 73 helped the home side post 228-8.

Josh Hutchinson removed Sowerby's top three and Mark Clayton (6-31) accounted for most of the rest.

Cup semi-final draws – Parish Cup: SBCI v Jer Lane, Warley v Copley. Crossley Shield: Jer Lane v Mytholmroyd, Wibsey Park Chapel v Warley.
