Yorkshire have concerns over a personnel crisis later in the summer should England come calling for a large number of their players, according to Martyn Moxon.

Gary Ballance, Liam Plunkett and Joe Root are already on Test duty, and are set to be unavailable for large parts of the summer, while a whole host of other players are in contention for England Lions, under 19s and under 17s call-ups through August.

Should a worst case scenario arise, Yorkshire's director of cricket says they would be without a dozen players of varying ages.

The Lions have a one-day triangular series against New Zealand A and Sri Lanka A, and if Yorkshire have players involved, they would likely miss four Royal London one-day Cup matches between August 5-12.

Jonny Bairstow, Tim Bresnan, Jack Brooks, Alex Lees, Adam Lyth and Adil Rashid are all Lions candidates.

"If we have three in the England team, a couple in the Lions, possibly five with the under 19s and a couple in the under 17s, we could have eleven or 12 lads away," said Moxon, who sees Yorkshire in NatWest T20 Blast action against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road tonight.

"I listened to Andrew Strauss commentate on the Worcester game (T20 v Durham last Saturday), and he was talking about Moeen Ali being selected from Worcester and how it was good that they have produced an England player.

"He said the primary reason for county cricket is to produce England players, it's not just about winning trophies. I think that's a good point. But, at the end of the season, a lot of people look at who's won what.

"We are the county with the longest wait for a trophy (2002), but we've produced the most England players. So what is regarded as success?

"It kind of frustrates me because in black and white terms we're judged on not winning any trophies, but one of the reasons is we can't play our best team all the time."

Yorkshire go in search of their third win from five North Division matches against the defending T20 champions tonight.
