Bradford Park Avenue boss John Deacey has swooped to make Gainsborough Trinity striker Bradley Barrowclough his first signing of the closed season.

Barrowclough joins seven of last season’s first-choice players who have already extended their stay at Horsfall Stadium.

The former Lincoln City player scored twice against Avenue in their last three Conference North Division clashes with Trinity.

“Deacey said: “I’m very pleased that Bradley has joined Bradford. He has a fantastic work rate and can score plenty of goals.

"He’s caused us problems over the years but he’s at the right age and is still very ambitious to do well in the game.”

Avenue press officer Lewis Sale added: “It is a really busy time for the club but I know that John was very keen to get Bradley’s signing done. He is the first new one on board.

“A lot of the players who were coming to the end of their deals, or who the club had options to keep, have re-signed.

"The new kit launch is coming soon and we are pushing season-ticket sales. Things are ticking on and we are busy but we’re doing our best to keep the news coming out to keep our supporters up to date.

“I think we have to take our hats off to the board of directors. They are always looking to come up with new initiatives and the free season tickets for the under-16s and students is a great idea. It will attract a new age group of supporter."
