Pilley’s is fishing well for quality fish. The carp record for this lake is now 27lb, caught by Wayne. Another of 23lb was caught by W Funnell. The Tuesday evening match was won by J Harrison with two tench for 7lb 12oz, with E Harrison (4lb 4oz) second and D Stephenson (1lb) third. The draw for the next match is at 5.45pm. Sunday’s trophy match was won by J Storey (20lb 1oz), comprising one bream of 5lb 12oz and seven tench. Others: 2 D Jackson 12lb 5oz, 3 J Harrison 9lb 1oz, 4 E Harrison 4lb 11½oz, 5 W Barker 2lb 12oz. The draw for Saturday’s open match at Rodley is at 9am. The new length on the canal at Armley is fishing well for quality roach. There are good parking facilities.

WASHBURN VALLEY

The heaviest fish caught during the week was a 6lb 12oz blue trout by Antony Sutton using black taddy. Fewston: It’s a really exciting time of year as trout feed on the abundant fly life both on the surface and just below. Good flies this week have been Dawson’s Olive and black buzzer. Swinsty: There are mainly perch taking worm and chasing spinners. Thruscross: Brown trout are taking nymph and buzzer close to the bank. Early morning is the best time of day. BRADFORD No1 AA

Matt Foster won the first officials’ match of the year at Queen Mary’s Ponds with three tench for 12lb 12oz on pole and worm. Second place went to Simon Freer, who caught two bream for 8lb 12oz. Raskelf Lake will be closed on Sunday for a veterans’ match, which draws at the lakeside at 9.30am. The first junior match of the year is at Raskelf on Saturday, June 28. Entry for this match is free for junior members and places can be booked by calling Simon on 01274-571175. A pair of prescription sunglasses have been found at Queen Mary’s Ponds in Ripon. BINGLEY AC

The draw for our next match at Coppice Pond on Sunday, June 15 will take place at 7am for fishing from 8am to 1pm. Members will be able to fish after the weigh-in. The Canal and River Trust are having a families' day on the canal at Five Rise Locks on Sunday. Members will be on the bank between numbers three and five to talk about the club and help anyone who would like to try their hand at fishing. All are welcome.

BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC
