Denholme teenager Rebekah Tiler has been named in England's 16-strong weightlifting and powerlifting team for Glasgow 2014, announced today by Team England.

The 15-year-old Bingley Grammar School pupil joins Commonwealth Games medallist Zoe Smith as well as Sarah Davies, Jo Calvino, Emily Godley, Mercy Brown and Natalie Blake in the women's squad.

World-record holder Ali Jawad from Leeds will represent England at powerlifting, while Jaswant Shergill, Christopher Freebury, Shaun Clegg, Jack Oliver, also from Leeds, Bradley Burrowes, Owen Boxall, Sonny Webster and Ben Watson complete the men's squad.

Following her inclusion, Smith said: "I'm delighted to have been selected to represent England at what will be my second Commonwealth Games.

"This will be my main focus for the year and I'm definitely aiming to improve on my bronze medal from Delhi."
