Striker Adam Boyes has become a permanent signing for Guiseley following his successful loan spell last season.

Boyes arrived at Nethermoor from Gateshead and scored 15 goals in 24 games, helping the club reach the play-offs in Skrill Conference North.

Lions boss Mark Bower wanted to sign the forward and both the player and Bower are both delighted that a deal has been worked out.

Bower said: “Not only for his goal-scoring record but his all-round play, work-rate and character made him an obvious target.”

Boyes is the third new signing following the capture of FC Halifax Town pair Danny Lowe and Ryan Toulson.

Meanwhile, Guiseley have announced a fifth pre-season friendly, with a trip to Brighouse Town added to their list of warm-up games.

The Lions will face their neighbours, who are gearing up for their first season in Evo-Stik Division One North following their promotion from the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division as champions, on Tuesday, July 15.

That will be just three days after Mark Bower’s men take on his former club Bradford City at Nethermoor.

As it stands, that is the Lions’ first friendly but the schedule is likely to change.

Guiseley’s confirmed pre-season games are: Saturday, July 12, Bradford City (H); Tuesday, July 15, Brighouse Town (A); Monday, July 21, Huddersfield Town (H); Saturday, July 26, Nuneaton Town (H); Tuesday, July 29, Clitheroe (A).
