There has been a steady drip-feed of information from Bradford Park Avenue this week and press officer Lewis Sale has primed supporters to expect plenty more during the close season.

Avenue boss John Deacey has been negotiating with players and working closely with the club’s finance director Kevin Hainsworth.

On Tuesday the club announced that Paul Walker had signed a contract extension for another 12 months, a day later Alex Davidson followed suit and then yesterday the news was revealed that skipper Nathan Hotte had also committed.

Sale said: “I would ask our fans to keep a close eye on the club because things are developing every day.

“John is keen to get his squad in place and is talking to players and potential signings.

“There is a lot going on behind the scenes. Kevin is drawing up contacts and doing his number crunching to provide the best budget he can.

“I know it’s the close season but we are all really busy and working long into the evening most nights. It’s important that we keep getting the information out to our supporters and, of course, the media.

“There are things developing all of the time – and not just with the guys signing up for the coming season. There is work going on with the ground and pre-season friendly games to finalise.”

Avenue have already confirmed the details of three warm-up games, with Doncaster Rovers and Sheffield United both visiting Horsfall while Deacey’s men will travel to play Witton Albion.

Paul Dickov’s Doncaster will be at Horsfall Stadium in just six weeks on Wednesday, July 9. That is four days before this summer’s World Cup reaches its conclusion in Rio de Janeiro.
