Manase Manuokafoa has been ruled out of Sunday's Magic Weekend showdown with Huddersfield but Luke Gale and James Donaldson are in line to return.

Manuokafoa has failed to shake off a hamstring injury and on-loan Giants prop Antonio Kaufusi is ineigilbe to face his parent club, reducing Francis Cummins' squad to the bare bones.

Matty Blythe, Brett Kearney, Jamal Fakir, Dale Ferguson and Oliver Roberts remain sidelined through injury but Gale has shaken off a hamstring strain and Donaldson is set to return after an ankle problem.

The 19-man squad: Danny Addy, Joe Arundel, Nathan Conroy, Matt Diskin, James Donaldson, Jamie Foster, Luke Gale, Lee Gaskell, Luke George, Adam Henry, Elliot Kear, Adam O'Brien, Tom Olbison, Alex Mellor, Jay Pitts, Adrian Purtell, Adam Sidlow, Chev Walker, Sam Wood.

No props against the Giants again. Not fair on the players or FC let alone the fans. Still, COYB!!

This would be my line-up: -

Kear
Foster
Purtell
Arundel
George
Gaskell
Gale
Sidlow
Diskin
Pitts
Addy
Olbison
Donaldson

Henry
O’Brien
Walker
Mellor

I would use Walker as a third prop (grasping a straws but nevermind) and if the brown stuff hit the fan with regards injuries you could bump Olbison up to the front row and put Mellor in the back row. If this did happen then the scorers would need to be paid overtime for the work they'd be doing!!!

There still seems to be quality in the team to trouble the Giants but I worry about the number of players carrying knocks going into this game such as Gale, Donaldson and George. I suppose you have to trust Cummins that he isn't putting players on the paddock that aren't near 100% physically fit.

But who would your 'third' prop be off the bench? Asking Pitts to start in the back row and then move straight up to the front row would be asking a bit too much.

Whatever Cummins does it will be a mend and make do approach due to injuries - oh if we had two more British based props in the squad... oh wait we DID!

Walker is nursing his toe injury and may only play a bit part; hot day, hard wide pitch I fear we could yet again concede 50+.

My heart goes out to the players who have slugged this out with no support from which ever set of clowns have decided to call themselves our board.

Poor Cummings is doing his beat with a tiny squad. I think he has been in for a lot of unnecessary criticism. I think he has done an amazing job keeping us together. we need to forget the battle up the middle and get the wingers in action.
Maybe dropping to the Championship next season would be good for us.
