Yorkshire’s NatWest T20 Blast campaign may start on Friday against last year’s surprise champions Northamptonshire at Headingley, but a week off from action then allows them to hone their 20-over skills around the county.

Before going on to reach Finals Day in 2012, they played Bradford League side Cleckheaton in a friendly.

And they are doing something similar early next week with three games in Sheffield, Harrogate and York and Jason Gillespie is expected to field a strong team in each clash.

They play a South Yorkshire Select XI at Abbeydale Park in Sheffield next Monday, a Harrogate CC Select XI at St George’s Road on Tuesday and a Yorkshire League XI at Clifton Park in York on Wednesday.

All matches start at 5.30pm. For ticket details visit www.yorkshireccc.com.
